Ahead of the end of the ongoing 2024 WASSCE, the University of Ghana has released the date for the start of the new academic year for 2024-2025.
According to the university, students who are writing their senior high school leaving examination administered by WAEC will commence semester 1 of the 2024-2025 academic year on Thursday, January 2nd, 2025.
This date suggests that the university will release the lists of applicants who gained admission to the university before the end of December 2024.
Thursday, January 2nd, 2025, is expected to be the date on which those who gain admission to the university will start their University of Ghana registration at the university and hall of residence levels.
Orientation for students admitted and all related programs will be outlined for students before January 2, 2025.
In a blog post by the Voice of Legon on X, it was indicated that “Fresh students for the 2024/25 academic year (WASSCE candidates) will be reporting to the University of Ghana to start their tertiary education on Thursday, January 2nd, 2025.”
However, a check on the university’s official website provided further details and the full timetable for Semester 1 of the 2024-2025 academic year.
Successful WASSCE 2024 candidates offered admission to the University of Ghana will start their lectures on Monday, January 13, 2025.
Matriculation for newly admitted students is scheduled for Saturday, February 8, 2025. Interim Assessment (IA) will be held from Monday, February 17, 2025, to Saturday, March 1, 2025.
