Ghanaians naturally believe they are among the most intelligent with high IQ in at least Africa, but the fact is Ghana is sadly part of the top 10 countries with the lowest IQ (below 70).

The average IQ in Nigeria in 2024 is 93.55 and this is way above that of Ghana.

The intelligence quotient (IQ) is a measure that examines and scores an individual’s cognitive abilities. The average IQ is usually close to 100. The average for Ghana is 58.16, which is lower than 70; hence, Ghanaians can be said to be suffering from intellectual disability, just as citizens of Liberia, Guinea, Ivory Coast, and South Sudan. Interestingly, Nigeria is not part of the countries with the lowest IQ.
