Following the end of the recruitment exercise by the Ghana Education Service (GES), which targeted university graduates, the management of the service is expected to release the appointment letters of teachers (University graduates) who were successful with their applications.
The release of the appointment letters is expected from week 3 in September 2024. The earlier the appointment letters are released, the better since the newly appointed teacher would have to prepare and report to their posts as the new academic calendar commences.
The recruitment of university graduates offered many graduates a chance to be employed in the Ghana Education Service to contribute to the education of Ghana’s future human resource.
While the recruitment portal was closed at midnight on September 10, 2024, teachers who applied anciticated that the GES would not delay in the release of appointment letters.
The email of appointment letters of university graduates by the GES will confirm their employment status. Only applicants who were successful will receive their appointment letters detailing their posting.
With the recruitment application phase successfully completed, the focus now shifts to the issuance of appointment letters. These letters will formally confirm the employment status of successful candidates and provide details about their postings.
The newly recruited teachers will be posted to various public schools in Ghana where their services are needed.

The GES has yet to communicate the date for the release of the appointment letters, but this is projected to take effect before the end of September 2024.
When GES releases the appointment letters, it will contain the following important details per teacher:
The district/region to which the teacher has been posted as well as the school the teacher has been allocated.
The date for reporting and starting their teaching service. This is the official reporting date for the newly posted teachers to arrive at their stations.
The appointment letter will also clearly spell out the Terms and Conditions of Employment for each educator posted. These include their salaries, expectations of the GES from them, and other issues that relate to employment.
Successful applicants are also to note that the GES often uploads the appointment letters on its portal, www.gespromotion.gov.gh. Again, to access the letters, one you will be required to often pay a fee. The fee is expected to be more than GHS10.00.
