Delays in Release of Letters: Graduate Recruitment, and Appointment Issues for Newly Recruited Teachers

Release appointment letters for university graduates as soon as possible GES Snubs 2023 Junior Rank raduate Recruitment, and Appointment Issues for Newly Recruited Teachers Promotion of Teachers
Days after the end of graduate teacher recruitment exercises and the reopening of schools, applicants have their faith hang in the balance since the GES has yet to release their appointment letters.
Teachers with similar issues have taken to the GES’ official Facebook page to complain about what they described as delays since schools they are to serve and where their services are needed have reopened.
“What is happening with our release letters at the headquarters? We are still waiting for our approval; meanwhile, schools have reopened.

I wonder, one of the furious teachers stated.

Another teacher commented on the same post that, in the Bono Region, some educators are receiving their letters from the regional office of the GES.
The delay and lack of proper structure and communication from the GES on the approach for the appointment letters is making teachers who applied for recruitment frustrated.
“Please work on our released letters for us. Volta Region, we are suffering to get our letters to get to our new station since school reopens. We went to the regional office, and we were told no approval has come from the headquarters.” A frustrated teacher lamented.
Some teachers have described the Director General of the Ghana Education Service as silent on matters that have to do with the date for the release of the postings of university graduates. Below is what another teacher had to say.
Dr. Eric Nkansah, contrary to your promise, why have Diploma in Education graduates not been recruited thus far?
Diploma in Education graduates require employment, money, and time to enable us to upgrade our respective diploma qualifications.
Dr. Eric Nkansah, Why are you silent on the issue?
Diploma in Education graduates wish to hear from you.
Thank you.
When is the posting of the university graduates going to commence?
When are the postings of university graduates commencing?
Another sad complaint shared on GES’ Facebook had to do with challenges with the verification of some teachers who had printed their appointment letters. One of such is below.
I’m a newly recruited teacher. I downloaded my appointment letter, but there’s no QR code. Meanwhile, my name is on the master list. I submitted the appointment letter, and they couldn’t verify me because the QR code isn’t there. I was asked to download the letter again, but the portal too isn’t responding.
Is there a way out for me to secure the appointment, or it’s over?
Teachers with the above challenges have called on the GES to take proactive actions to deal with the issues.

Centralization of administration is a setback of the current NPP government, recruitment of teachers were done at the district levels under previous governments, but the current government has changed the story so as to deny the ordinary citizens who have no cohorts in Accra from appointment.
Shame for renaming the ministry of local government into ministry of local government and decentralization when there is no decentralization.

leadership of GES we are pleading you to release our pending appointment letters. Most of us took loan from the government to complete our courses hopping to pay it back when we’re recruited. We really tired of sitting in the house when our service are needed.
