2024 BECE Social Studies Questions

Using the Common Core Curriculum, all BECE candidates should complete the following 2024 BECE Social Studies Questions set in the NaCCA/WAEC format.

2024 BECE Social Studies Questions (Question 4):

Akwasi Village has been experiencing frequent power outages due to high energy consumption. The village council decides to launch an energy conservation campaign to educate the residents on the importance of saving energy. They identify four key individuals to help lead the campaign: A mother of four, a headteacher, a police officer, and a shopkeeper.

Using the information provided, answer the following questions:

  1. Explain energy conservation and its importance in the Akwasi Village.
  2. Discuss three ways each of the identified individuals (mother, headteacher, police officer, and shopkeeper) can contribute to conserving energy in their community.
  3. Suggest 4 energy-saving practices for Akwasi Village.
