The results of the examination will be accessible online at check-bece-result to all home and school candidates. Students who took the BECE Home Mock will have their results online but parents will use their phone numbers, which are the index numbers of candidates, to access them. In general, the results of all subjects are not promising except for religious and moral education. Brief Examiners Report for the December 2024 BECE Home and School Mock
Schools should take the December 2024 BECE Home and School Mock seriously and ensure that they do not become complacent.
General worrying issues from the examiner’s report.
- Very poor spelling and grammar issues were detected across all subjects, with students not able to spell key words or vocabularies that are at the heart of answers.
- Students answered most Social Studies questions without explaining like they did for the RME, which contributed to lower low scores.
- Performance in th Mathematics and Integrated Science papers was not good and this is very worrying. Most students should not answer the practical aspect of the Integrated Science and spelling and sentence construction were bad, making it difficult for students to communicate.
- Several students who chose the English language essay question relating to story writing wrote stories that did not answer the question. Others lacked the mastery of the feature of formal letters and mixed things up. Others, in attempting an article for publication, were lost in the approach and organization. The less said about shocking spelling and dangerous subject-verb agreements, the better.
Parents, teachers, and schools are to look out for the comprehensive chief examiner’s report to be released along with the result in the coming days.
