WAEC Final 2024 BECE Update Released Ahead of Examination

October 2024 BECE Mock Exam Report For 2025 BECE Candidates - English Language 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examination

The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has released its final 2024 BECE update, for candidates and all stakeholders ahead of the examination. A total of 569,095 candidates will sit the 6-day examination which starts on Monday 8th July and ends on Monday 15th July.

The data above included 282,684 males and 286,447 females from 19,506 Junior High Schools (Public and private).

The examination will be held at 2123 centres However, out of the total candidates sitting the exam, 1366 private candidates will be sitting the exam, based on the

WAEC confirmed the use of the Common Core Curriculum in the 2024 BECE for school candidates while those siting the examination as resit will be administered questions based on the old curriculum.

WAEC added that it has released its sample questions for the examination.

The officers of WAEC who will be at the post during the exam are made up of 2,123 supervisors , 1,889 assistant supervisors, and 19,973 invigilators.

  9. Religious and Moral Education (RME): Covers moral values, religious knowledge, and ethics.
