The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the extension of the closing date for the newly introduced teacher self-posting.
In a message posted on its official Facebook page, the GES extended the closing date from 21st August to 39th August 2024.

It further indicated that the extension would offer teachers using the module sufficient time to complete the online self-posting process.

The GES also called on teachers to constantly check the GES official portal and other official channels for updates and notifications.

 

Teachers Self-Posting Deadline: Full Details from GES to Short Listed Teachers

The management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) announces the extension of the deadline for the self-posting process for short-listed applicants from the colleges of education (2022 batch).

The initial deadline, previously extended to August 21st, 2024, has been further extended to August 30th, 2024.

This extension is intended to provide sufficient time for all applicants to complete the online self-posting process and submit their appointment letters. Applicants are encouraged to regularly check the GES website and official communication channels for updates and notifications.

Teachers have been reacting and questioning when the GES would announce an official update.

Some of the issues raised by teachers have to do with the inability to change the school they have chosen to post. It is expected that the GS who take proactive steps to address issues that have been raised by teachers regarding self-hosting ensure that the soft posting introduced for teacher posting is not only effective but efficient in providing the best user-friendly experience to teachers.

Shortlisted teachers have, however, called on the GES to do the following and answer some questions before the end of the process to help them make good choices. Below are the issues and questions.

GES Extends Teachers’ Self-Posting Deadline, but not without questions and issues from teachers. Below is a compilation of some of these issues.

  1. Update the portal with schools in the southern regions.
  2. Update us on whether there is an opportunity for university graduates this year.
  3. Asunafo North district of Ahafo Region. We need teachers.
  4. Some applicants who submitted their documents a month ago are yet to be called for their letters at the regional level, the central region, for instance, and have been told not to go there until one receives a call from them.
  5. There are lots of vacancies in our JHS in the Ashanti region, yet you posted all of them to primary schools, leaving the JHS. Why? Please, we need teachers in our schools
  6. Those of us who did our reposting to the Ashanti region have been denied the processing. All they say is our master list has not been successfully submitted to them… GES, please do something about it.
  7. A message was released asking the regional office to help save us from not paying additional T&T, but the release is overlooked by some regions. We were told to go back and expect a call from the regional office. Why should this be the case?
  8. Upload new schools in Ahafo, Bono, Bono East, and Ashanti Region on the portal for twi-speaking applicants to complete their re-post process.
    Shortlisted teachers are encouraged to keep an eye on the portal and complete their self-posting.
