Mfantsipim defeats Presec Legon to book a 2024 NSMQ Final. This has brought to a halt PRESEC’s attempt to clinch a 9th title in the Science and Maths Quiz.
The “School” has spoken! Mfantsipim Senior High School, one of the oldest and most prestigious institutions in Ghana, has risen to the occasion, making an emphatic statement by securing their place in the 2024 NSMQ finals. With calculated precision and deep-rooted academic strength, Mfantsipim saw off stiff competition from both Presec, Legon, and Osei Tutu SHS in a thrilling semi-final that will be remembered for years to come.
At the end of the 5th round, Osei Tutu SHS had 27 points.

The Quiz Mistress broke the tie with a question, which was answered correctly by Mfantsipim to bring PRESEC Legon’s 9th NSMQ trophy attempt to an end at the Semi-Finals.
PRESEC Legon protested the final answers used to break the tie, but it was not accepted.
Taking on Presec was no small feat, especially given the Presecans’ reputation and their formidable quiz track record. Yet, Mfantsipim’s team, undeterred, tackled the challenge with confidence, delivering answers that were not only accurate but also delivered with speed and flair. The killing of the GAINT Presec Legon ends PRESEC’s bragging rights, though they remain the most successful school at the NSMQ contest. PRESEC was preapred but Mfantsipim School did well and we had good protest that were rejected,” The head master of PRESE indicated after the contest.
A teacher from PRESEC added that the NSMQ is not just a contest because it comes with a lot of preparation, and strategic planning, among others.
