KNUST Freshers Medical Examination Dates and Venues Out With All the Dates and The Various Medical Examinations Students Must Undergo To Complete The KNUST Admission Requirements.

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has commenced medical examinations for newly admitted students across all programmes and levels. This announcement was made by the KNUST Admissions Office through a blog post sighted by Education-News Consult.

According to the university, the medical examinations for freshers will begin on 23rd December 2024 and continue until the end of the day on 24th December 2024. The medical team will take a break from 25th to 26th December 2024 and resume services from 27th to 31st December 2024. They will then break again until 2nd January 2025.

The medical examinations will run daily from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

All students are to come along with their National Health Insurance Cards, without which the medical examination fo a student will not commence.

Designated Centres for KNUST Medical Examinations for Freshers

Freshers are required to visit the following locations for their medical examinations:

  1. The Students Clinic – Near the Chancellor’s Hall.
  2. Social Science Students Clinic – Close to the Business School.
  3. Boadi Medical Enclave.
  4. CCB Staff Clinic – Near the Faculty of Agriculture.

Tests to Be Conducted during the KNUST Medical Examinations for Freshers

Physical Examinations:

  • Vital signs
  • Eye and ear assessment
  • Cardiovascular evaluation
  • Respiratory examination
  • Neurological check-up
  • Abdominal examination
  • Musculoskeletal evaluation

Laboratory Tests:

  • Sickling status test
  • Chest X-ray

Important Guidelines for Freshers

  • All students are expected to fully participate and cooperate with medical officers during the examinations.
  • These medical tests are compulsory and form part of the admission requirements.
  • Failure to complete the medical examination within the stipulated period will result in forfeiture of admission.
  • Freshers can visit sme.knust.edu.gh to start the examination process.
