Education-News Consult, Ghana’s best home mock experts, has commenced nationwide tonight at 7 p.m. The mock of January has been dubbed the “Akwaaba Mock.” It will take place from Friday, January 2025, and end on February 2, 2025.
Tonight, candidates are writing the English language paper for two hours. The English paper will test speed and accuracy. Candidates will have to deal with 50 objective test questions in 45 minutes; they will be required to read a long, winding comprehension passage and another for summary. The essay aspect will see students choosing one of our well-structured and carefully set composition questions.
At 15 minutes past 9 pm, parents will be submitting the scripts for the mock via the internet for marking and grading. This is an indication that the location of a candidate is not a barrier and that we are using the technology to enhance preparation and learning at Education-News Consult.
Our mock papers are not mere exam papers; they are based on our internally projected topics for each subject.
To ensure a smooth mock period, our team will be online to provide support to parents and candidates until this evening’s paper is over.
The January mock will be the 4th mock examination to be organised for candidates preparing for the 2025 examination, which is expected to take place in June 2025.
Parents and guardians received their respective questions via our laid-out systems online on Thursday, 23rd January 2025, before 12 midday. This enabled those who intended to print them to do so at least a day before the mock.
Parents are to ensure that their wards do not have access to any of the mock questions before the actual time for writing the mock at home.
The 2025 BECE Home Mock dubbed Akwaaba Mock will go beyond testing students’ knowledge for each subject. The mock will also test the ability of candidates to solve more questions within a limited time. For instance, candidates will in some instances have 50 objective questions to solve in 45 minutes. In other instances, they will have to solve more section B questions in a limited time.
If you have not enrolled your ward, kindly do so, and let us work together to help them prepare well for our mock examination.
In all instances, the candidates are expected to maintain a high level of accuracy, manage their time effectively, and offer good, well-thought-out answers.
What we expect from candidates and parents during the January 2025 BECE Home Mock (Akwaaba Mock)
- Parents should ensure the candidates are invigilated and not left on their own during each mock paper.
- Parents should ensure they follow the valid submission procedures and submit scripts on time for marking and grading.
- Parents should not allocate more than the time allocated on the question paper.
- Candidates must ensure they write information-rich answers that are self-explanatory.
- Candidates should not in any way use AI-generated answers. Any script with such traces will be canceled.
- Candidates should show workings in all instances if they are answering any Section B questions that demand calculations.
- Candidates are to read through their work and make corrections to avoid losing marks.
The examination will take 2 weeks to complete and below is the standard timetable.
In week 1, from 24th January to 26th January, candidates will write English Language, Integrated Science, RME, Maths, and Social Studies.
In week two, from 1st February to 2nd February, the remaining subjects, thus Computing, Creative Arts, and Design and Career Technology, will be administered as per the timetable below.
