  • According to the details provided by the GES, the portal has a technical problem which needs to be resolved.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that the ongoing self-posting exercise by College of Education-trained teachers who completed their program in 2022 will be extended.

Cassandra Twum Ampofo, Head of Public Relations Unit of the Ghana Education Service, signed a press release containing this on July 30, 2024.

The statement indicated that the GES had postponed the closing date from the previously indicated date of July 31, 2024. The GES has also extended the submission date for appointment letters from 7th August 2024 to August 21, 2024.

The GES cited unforeseen technical difficulties with the recruitment portal as the sole reason for the extension to give all qualified applicants a fair chance and ample time to use the portal for self-placement.

It added that the technical team was working on the issues affecting the portal. We expect the GES to provide additional updates as soon as it resolves the current technical challenges, enabling applicants to proceed with the self-placement module.

In a related development, some teachers have complained about the system not permitting them to make changes to schools wrongly chosen.

“Why are you not granting access to REPOSTING? If the applicant mistakenly selects a school not preferred, he or she can’t effect a change; again, if the applicant considers one or two circumstances and wishes to change the school, the portal doesn’t allow that. It’s very bad and needs urgent attention.” One of the teachers, David Aboagye Dacosta, expressed his concerns.

EXTENSION OF DEADLINE FOR SELF-POSTING BY 2022 COLLEGES OF EDUCATION APPLICANTS

The Management of Ghana Education Service (GES) wishes to inform all shortlisted applicants who were requested to complete the self-posting process to a school of their choice that the deadline for the closure of the portal (previously 31st July 2024) and the submission of appointment letters (previously 7th August 2024) have been extended to 21st August 2024.

The extension has become necessary due to unforeseen technical difficulties with the recruitment portal, which are currently being addressed by our technical team. We apologise for the inconvenience this has caused and appreciate your patience as we work to resolve the issue and complete the self-posting process.

Applicants are advised to monitor the GES website and other official communication channels for regular updates.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Teachers have reacted with many asking questions about when the recrutiment portal will be opened for University Graduates.

One of the comments relating to this was as follows: Please open the portal for university graduates too. We also have degree, we have no resits in our schools, we have passed the NTC Licensure exams and have our certificates, finally, we have also completed the one year national service. What disqualifies us from being posted? You’re not being fair to us, we are all Ghanaians

Please what have University graduates done to Ghana? No attention for us. We equally have degrees and ntc certificates and all what it takes to be posted but government attention is on nurses and teachers from college of education. If you know we are not needed why should you introduce that program. We feel like we’re not important at all. First we did understand that teacher trainees were diploma holders but now they are degree holders like those in the university but you still post them with the neglect of us. Ghana you must do some thing before we one agitate.
