The marking of the 2024 WASSCE scripts has been completed, and the 2024 WASSCE results release date is out , according to information available to Education-News Consult from a reliable source at the West African Examinations Council (WAEC). The conclusion of the script marking phase brings an end to the long and anxious wait for students, parents, and tertiary institutions who have been eagerly awaiting the results to determine their next course of action.
2024 WASSCE marking is completed: What next?
With the marking of the 2024 WASSCE for school candidates now over, WAEC is expected to release the results in the coming weeks. Prior to the start of the marking process, WAEC had disclosed that the results of the WASSCE candidates would be released between the 9th and 15th of December 2024, during an interview with the Head of Public Affairs at WAEC on Accra-based Citi FM.
“We are looking at the second week of December, so at least between the 9th and the 15th of December, we are confident that we will be able to release the results,” the Head of Public Affairs at WAEC told Citi FM.
The release of the WASSCE 2024 results will help the over 460,000 candidates who wrote the examination. In all 460,611 candidates made up of 212,954 males and 247,657 females, presented by 1,003 participating Senior High Schools registered for the examination. The examination was administrated at 1,000 centres across the country.

How to check 2024 WASSCE School results
To check your 2024 WASSCE results, follow the following steps:
- Buy the WASSCE CHECKER CARDS for your valid voucher.
- Visit the WASSCE for School result checking portal
- Enter your Index Number
- Select the type of Examination (e.g WASSCE)
- Select your Examination Year (e.g 2024)
- Enter the Serial Number found on the Result Checker Card
- Enter the 12-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN) on your Result Checker Card (eg. 012345678912)
- Confirm your Index Number and Examination Year. This is to ensure that your examination information is correct.
- Click on Submit and wait for the display in the popup window. This may take several minutes.
