Hence, on this date, SHS1 students and their parents will be expected to visit the schools they have been placed in to start their enrolment process and get the school prospectus, among others.
So on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, schools will start receiving parents who want to seek administrative support and undergo the laid-down processes to enroll their placed 2024 BECE graduates. At this stage, there is nothing like teaching and learning (academic activities) for SHS1 students yet.

What is the 2024 SHS1 reporting date?
The reporting date is the date from which all students who have completed the admission processes and have enrolled in a public SHS are expected to report to school to start academic work. This date marks the start of academic work.
Students who got boarding accommodation will report as well as day students. Boarding students will settle down in dorms they have been assigned by the school. On this day, all students admitted will report to school with their parents to complete the final administrative procedures before classes begin.
To make it easy for the schools to manage the process, students in boarding will often be expected to report during the weekend that precedes the reporting date.
This explanation is expected to bring clarity to the 2024 SHS1 reporting date. The reporting date for SHS1 students is 7 November 2024.
On 5th December, the Ghana Education Service will break for all students to go home. This is to ensure that students who participate in the December elections get the opportunity to exercise their voting rights. The students are expected to report to school on December 9th to continue their academic work until December 19th. Schools will break for the 2024 Christmas festivities from 20th December, 2024.
