Lagos State has officially released the 2024 BECE results for candidates. The 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) result is for candidates who sat the exam in the state.
In a press statement signed by the Director of the Lagos State Examinations Board, Mr. Adebayo Orunsolu, the statement said the results that are out were for all public and private school candidates who sat for the exam.
He furthered that schools can check their results from the Lagos State Examination Board’s online portal.“Authorities concerned should visit the Board’s Portal using their schools’ default or existing usernames and passwords provided during the registration of their students to enable them to print out their schools’ results with effect from Monday, September 23, 2024,” he stated.
The results, which are now live on the result portal, will ensure that people do not have to visit the office of the Lagos Education Board to check their ward’s results.
The Lagos State Examinations Board has indicated that all candidates who were unsuccessful in the exam can be registered for a resit exam to be conducted. The date is yet to be communicated.
“The date for the conduct of the BECE Resit Examination for students who failed English Studies or Mathematics or both would be duly communicated to all affected schools in due course,” he indicated.
He further highlighted that the new system reflects the government’s commitment to streamlining educational processes and ensuring a smooth experience for schools and students.
The director also commended stakeholders for their cooperation, which contributed to the success of this new policy.
In a related development, the Lagos State Government recently announced an increase in boarding fees across all public secondary schools, raising the fee from N35,000 to N100,000 per term.
