- KNUST Introduces 3 Novel Degree Programmes for WASSCE Holders
- Admission requirements have been outlined to help would be applicants
Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has introduced three (3) novel programmes of study not offered in any Ghanaian university considering the programme content.
The new programmes are also future-oriented, as they are carefully designed programmes that offer high employment prospects for graduates who will study them.

With Ghana’s digitalization drive, the KNUST has introduced the BSC in Information Technology to provide students the chance to acquire critical technology bias studies to fill the technology gap.
According to the university, applicants for this programme must have at least WASSCE/SSSCE with credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, and Integrated Science, as well as credit passes in Elective Mathematical and any other two electives. This means that the key subjects one must pass to be considered are elective mathematics, without which admission into this programme will be impossible even if the applicant meets all other requirements.
The second and third recently introduced degree programmes are BSC. Dietetics and BSC. Human nutrition.
These two programmes are purely science-related. Interested applicants must obtain at least WASSCE/SSSCE with credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, and Integrated Science. In addition, applicants must have credit passes in biology, chemistry, or either physics or mathematics.
Apart from the above elective subjects, others with credit passes in Food and Nutrition, Management in Living, Chemistry, or Biology can also apply. This gives both Home Economics and Science students a glorious opportunity to enrol in such programmes from the 2024-2025 academic year.
