Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, the Minister of Education, will enlighten Ghanaians on the state of education in Ghana. The Accra International Conference Centre in Accra will host the programme on Tuesday, July 30th, 2024, at 9 AM.
The minister announced the programme on his Facebook account. In the post, he hinted at some key areas the program will touch on.
Developments in education, education-focused achievements, and future plans in the education sector will be among the key highlights, according to the minister.
We expect the program to outline and highlight the successes achieved in the education sector over the last seven and a half years. We expect the progress to demonstrate how it is shaping Ghana’s education for the future.
The programme is scheduled to take place at the Accra International Conference Centre.

It is expected that the minister will touch on policies such as the Free SHS programme, the introduction of the common core curriculum, and the new Free SHS programme to be rolled out in September 2024.
Other expected areas include STEM education, teacher education reforms, and education sector infrastructure, among others.

In a related development, educators with degrees and diplomas in education have been urging the Ghana Education Service to assign them to schools in need of their services. However, the GES has indicated it will recruit degree and diploma holders soon. It, however, did not provide further details on the date it will start the posting. According to Dr. Eric Nkansah, GES will make the details known once it secures financial clearance.
