There Is a New Way To Check 2024 School Placement After Govt Announced Free SHS/TVET Placement Checking
The government has declared that it won’t require a school placement checker to verify the 2024 school placements, thereby altering the method of placement verification.
The government, through the Ministry of Education, in a press release dated October 25, 2024, revealed that access to the 2024 school placements (2024/2025 SHS/TVET placement result) will be free.
The introduction of the free SHS/TVET placement checking means that parents will not have to buy a checking voucher to check the placement. The move makes access and checking placement free. However, individuals who need to verify and print their payments from internet cafes will be responsible for the cost of printing and photocopies.

What Is The New Way To Check 2024 School Placement?
- Visit the CSSPS portal at https://www.cssps.gov.gh or https://www.cssps.org.
- Enter your ten-digit index number, followed by 24, the year you took the BECE, once the site loads. An example is 123456789024.
- Cross-check the index number you entered to ensure it is correct.
- Await the loading or displacement of the placement.
- Save the placement files as PDFs and print them as well.
Make sure to print all the necessary documents. If you discover that self-placement is required, immediately utilize this option to select a suitable school from the available options. The longer it takes to choose a school from the self-placement, the greater the possibility that you will not get a suitable school to choose.
The Ministry of Education is expected to release the placement on or before October 27th, 2024, while all secondary schools reopen on October 2024. We expect the placed 2024 BECE candidates to visit schools from the 30th to begin the enrolment process.
