When WAEC finally releases the 2024 BECE results, it will come with mixed feelings. Often fear of the unknown results, increase in result checker scams, fake promises of ability to change results of candidates, and promise of being able to get students placed in their preferred school choices feel the air.

If care is not taken, you will be duped by criminals, but there are steps you can take to remain safe on the internet when the results are out.

Do not buy result checkers from persons who do not operate websites or who sell only on WhatsApp. Often those who sell via WhatsApp cannot be traced, and so if they dupe you, all you can do is block you from chatting or calling them.
Do not expose your result checker you are yet to use to your friends. Someone can easily use it, especially if they have the code or a screenshot of it.
Do not believe anyone who tells you he or she can change your BECE results. It is a big lie and a scam. Just in case that person continues to disturb you, ask him or her to offer the service before payment. Any criminal will reject this offer from you. Do not pay money to such strangers because you may never hear from them again.

Do not go online and start using any BECE result checker buying short code. Some of these short codes may have been used in the past but are no longer working. If you use them, your payment will go through, but the checker will not be served.
